The Lubavitcher Rebbe said in the name of his father in-law, “Be scrupulous about saying the entire Tehillim (Psalms) on Shabbos Mevorchim. It is crucial for you, for your children, and your children’s children.”

The World Wide Tehillim Club was established to help children from Pre-1a through 8th grade to become more familiar with saying Tehillim on Shabbos Mevorchim. We do this by breaking the chapters down into manageable, age-appropriate segments and rewarding the children with prizes for participation.

The eventual goal is that by the time they are in eighth grade, the children can say all 150 chapters with ease.

Each month, children who complete their Tehillim allotment are entered into a raffle to win one of 100 great prizes. This past year WWTC had more than 1,500 winners. In addition to the monthly prizes, every child who participates at least once earns a prize. (To see the prizes, click the link on the left “The Prizes.”)

At the end of the school year, all the children who completed their Tehillim for at least six out of the ten months of the program are entered into a Grand Raffle. The winner receives either $1,000 worth of Jewish books or a scholarship to the Jewish summer camp of their choice!

In addition, children Tehillim Minyanim have sprung up in many cities as a result of the club. Special prizes are offered as incentives for participation.
