The Mashpia is a crucial player in this. At this stage in the life of a youngster, a meaningful relationship with an older person is rare, and has tremendous potential. When the Chayol feels that there is someone who will befriend him, care for him, and guide him in the proper way, it helps immensely in developing his self-confidence, his feeling of being accepted and appreciated for who and what he is.
