With their parents in jail or battling addiction, many children in the CIS are being raised by their grandparents.
Unfortunately, a good number of these seniors are too poor or ill to buy and prepare nutritious food for the children in their care.
To help these seniors feed their precious grandchildren, the Wheels for Life Bus, which was purchased with funds raised by the Jewish community of Great Neck, New York, delivers nutritious food basics to homebound grandparents in Dnepropetrovsk.
Social workers ride along to offer seniors access to other social and health programs whenever needed. |
