In December 1997, Tzivos Hashem and the Jewish Renaissance Foundation arranged its first delegation of Russian-speaking American doctors who traveled to the Marcia Wilf and Ira Yavarkovsky Children’s Medical Clinic to treat children whose symptoms baffled local doctors.
The trip had a tremendous impact, radically improving children’s lives for the better and easing parents’ worries.
Since then, the trip has become an annual event with the doctors bringing medicines, medical equipment, and their expertise to diagnose and treat sick children.
Since they lead training symposia and maintain contact with their Ukrainian counterparts, the doctors continue to make a difference even after they’ve returned home.
