It’s hard to say who benefits most from the Kids to Kids program—the kids in the CIS who delight in getting new toys, clothing, and crafts or their American peers who send them.
With each package, the children in the CIS, many of whom live in the Benenson Homes, get far more than nice warm coats or new playthings, they get the sense that they have American friends who truly care about them.
On the other side of the Atlantic, American kids discover how wonderful it is to help others and also gain a deeper appreciation of how lucky they are to live in comfortable circumstances. |
